Because the running Grunt isn't the punchline. It's a beat panel. The punchline is that the Chief set up a cheese baited mousetrap, knowing that the Grunt would snap it and not a mouse.
While grunts in pain will always be funny, I gotta agree with some of the other comments. Shouldn't the MOUSE? frame be in the middle? IMHO, of course.
I love how Arby is just calmly "You didn't tell me you had seen a mouse." As if grunts running around crying with rat traps on their hands is a common occurrence. Great job!
True i agree with this guy,s comment they should hav been reversed. any ways i steel find it funny so keep up the good work also make one up with chuck norris
whats with the Arbiters head in the first panel? you could of drawn a better head that doesn't look squished, and the Chiefs neck is a bit off. but good job keep up the good work

In panel two, however, the Arbiter's mandibles could have been better drawn. It looks a bit like when Charlie Brown would look at the camera and say "AWW RATS!". Just tweak the perspective a bit.
The "SNAP" feels different because it isn't a font. Normally I just find an interesting font from a site I know and that's that. But Nothing jumped out at me so I drew it by hand that time.
It's the blue background. I haven't used blue very often and it's more vibrant. Normally the background color is more muted whereas this one really reaches up and kicks you in the unmentionables.
yeah, that blue background really jumps out at you. and the way "SNAP" is written in the first caption looks really cartoon, kinda adds to why i think it looks different. hmm idk, it just feels different. not necessarily bad or anything, i'm just saying. good strip tho, like always - i love your stuff.
